this project at Folsom and Rausch is underway



so far not digging this side (Eighth St) of the massive project at Eighth and Harrison



here is how it meets its neighbor to the west

A little Van Ness corridor update...

1650 Broadway (LuXe) is nearly wrapped up:


1868 Van Ness is still shrouded:

The glass is done on 1450 Franklin:


and the paneling is starting to go up:

(it's hard to tell with all the glare, but it is a glossy white material)

Saw some demo going on recently at the corner of 5th and Harrison, former auto repair shop. Anyone know what is happening there? Btw its catty corner to the all-star donuts that is not long for this world.

How the heck is All Star Donuts still around?? lol. I remember going there back in the 00s after some memorable and not so memorable times at an 18+ club called Club Faith on Harrison and 3rd or 4th I believe. Thanks for the memories

partially. this is the project site, which does note 422 parking spots, and a garage entry off the alley in this schematic:

According to SocketSite, the total number of residential units under construction, approved and proposed in the city of San Francisco has risen to a record 63,400.

A cool 7,300 of those units are currently under construction. I wonder what percentage of the total units u/c in the whole Bay Area is in San Francisco...50%? Higher?

If most of those come to fruition, that is easily another 120k residents in the City. Muni really needs to develop their subways. Van Ness, and Geary (at least to Masonic) needs to be underground. Do developers pay fees towards public transit as part of the project?

yes, there are impact fees, including a Transportation Sustainability Fee which residential developments of over 20 units pay.
