Effort Trust manages the Commerce Place towers at King & James, and window washers are up there regularly during warmer months.
I honestly did not think Commerce Place washed their windows, they're always so gross.

Not much to see on the outside but look in the windows from Hughson Street and see that the gutting is moving quickly. Hopefully the exterior is ready to come down soon. This afternoon:
LOL in the first pic it looks like a car got crushed in debris!

Went by this afternoon, construction trailers on site, looks like they're shutting down Hughson Street for demolition and construction, should start to see this eyesore come down very soon:
Take a look at that old vault!:
Another big old bank vault, but this one is still in the wall:
I am curious to see what new renders for this lot will look like now that they no longer have to use the existing infrastructure as part of their design..
I don't think the downtown core has ever had this many holes along this street before with this and the kresgys building.. not in our lifetimes at least.. should be interesting to see how it looks as another hole...
Ok, dating myself , but urban renewal of the late 60s and early 70s saw the whole West side of downtown raized. agreed that it has been many decades for King Street to see any real redevelopment. I think the biggest change for me will be to see those parking lot pastures of 50+ years become productive lands again. Hope it has the feel good of James N coming back to be loved and how we all seem to like how King Willliam coming together.
I don't think I've ever been so happy to see a building come down - Here's to hoping a better design goes here
As for the king william and james st interest - I hope people remember it's because of the original character of those streets that a lot of the interest persists along those stretches. I love how they maintained that character with the one hole they filled in on king william with the stone engraved facade. Fully modern buildings look dated very quickly, but a combination of glass and stone (stone, not concrete) appears to be timeless (the courthouse building for example on main and john)
