That's the Williamsburg-Greenpoint-LIC waterfront skyline.

At some point that will merge with the LIC skyline cluster, as the area in between is being rezoned.

Look forward to that merging day so midtown manhattan - Williamsburg-Greenpoint-LIC will be a super merger (a GREAT skyline WALL) from certain angle by drone or apartment windows

Killer thread. There’s other mega cities in the world but there’s only one New York. Other cities are in great geographic settings & have built up impressive hyper-urban density over wide areas Tokyo for example. NYC was the first and that legacy of inter-war urbanism isn’t something you can find anywhere else on the same scale the modern fabric is just the icing on the cake.

Chicago does deserve an honorable mention it’s got that same excellent mixture in a large scale core. However the vast amount of flat land the urban area was able to expand out into acted as pressure release valve. There just aren’t the multiple ultra densely interconnected cores.

Where else in the world can you get a view like this? Got to love NY a city where city defining skyscrapers are just background clutter
