Nice...very up to date video! The title is "Downtown Phoenix" ...yet, many shots of midtown and uptown Phoenix. If the zoning didn't allow to build high rises along Central Ave. (They started that way back in the 1960's) ...all those buildings up on Central - all the way to Camelback - would have been in "Downtown" ...and a much more impressive downtown skyline - especially for a metro area (including down into Pinal County) - of 5 million people! So many videos tied to this one - really liked seeing downtown Tucson to the UofA. Haven't been back in Tucson - 6 or 8 years - can't - even remember! More charm - and restoring old buildings, etc.

There is not a single shot of uptown, the furthest north this drone footage goes is Palm Ln. The city considers McDowell the northern border of downtown.

So yeah there are some shots that include midtown but thats only because midtown is visible and right next door to downtown.

Looks like Central Park developer updated its project plans and appears to be moving forward. According to the blog, they have until Feb 2021 to apply for building permits

8 height evaluations (4 at 80' and 4 at 75') submitted for the lot located at the SW corner of 2nd St. and Jackson. I have not heard of any projects here, but the corner has been fenced off for a long time. I will try and dig up some project information unless anyone knows what's going there?

Ah that should be for the hotel that was proposed there. Forgot the brand, but I remember they will be re-purposing that warehouse for the lobby

You can see up to Indian School and beyond in several shots that go north of Midtown, so there’s that.

Has anyone else noticed that there seems to be little to no activity on the exterior of Kenect. If you view the webcam, there are no workers visible for days.

I didn't catch it or not sure if anyone else did, but there was apparently a rezoning hearing on April 30th for Garfield House for setback decreases that were approved. Hopefully this means a little more traction towards this development moving.

All I have seen is the site plan review. No renderings that I know of. But I will follow up with it a new records request or something to try and squeeze out a rendering.

This is the proposed tower at the SE corner of Garfield and 6th St. where the Grow-house is currently located. The developer was pushing for something like 283', but the site is zoned for 250' max and I didn't see any height increase listed in the zoning agenda. So they are probably going to stick with 250'. And I don't think Phoenix would budge on the height anyway for this location due to the amount of single family units in adjacent areas. So I'll take the 250'

The FAA review indicates 26 stories and 285'. Of course, zoning may reduce the proposed height.

Garfield House
