APPROVED: SUNNY ISLES WILL GET ITS TWO TALLEST TOWERS EVER AT 700 FEET AFTER FAA AGREES
Quote:
The Estates at Acqualina will become the tallest buildings ever in Sunny Isles after they were approved yesterday by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Construction is already underway on the two 50-story towers.
Each will rise 700 feet above sea level, or 692 feet above ground. That is around 50 feet taller than any other building in the city.
Currently, all of the tallest building in Sunny Isles top off at 649 feet above sea level, or around 642 feet above ground.
In November, developers of Acqualina told The Next Miami that they would build up to the 700 foot height if the FAA agrees. The application for height approval was submitted to the agency in October and took seven months to complete.
The Trump Group, led by Jules and Eddie Trump (no relation to the president) is the developer.
Total development value is estimated at $1.6 billion.
Cohen, Friedman, Encinosa and Associates is the architect. A lobby design was created by Karl Lagerfeld.
