Jesse is looking good for one, but Drai is off... over and over.

Heading into OT3 blah.

I was joking at home earlier when I told my son I would wake him for work because I would still be up watching hockey. Now it's not looking so much like a joke anymore lol.

With me being a scarred vet of the 80's I felt that the Jets needed to win this game. My paranoia would have been in overdrive if they had lost.

Way to go Jets!

Oiler fans probly don't want to hear this right now, but they have to put together a good 2nd line. There's nearly 2.4 million in dead cap coming off the books next year , then maybe trade a 1st rounder to get Neal off the books. That would give the Oilers lots of spare money to resign key guys, plus get some help on the 2nd line. Maybe let RNH go and try someone else. McDavid will be 25 next year...

Hockey's a weird sport. You have to sign top players to top dollar, and any gm in the league would take Mcdavids contract in a heartbeat, but then that one player actually has very limited ability to deliver post-season results. Like Lebron or Giannis could not get swept in the first round, it just wouldn't happen. Theres too many opportunities for them to influence the game in their favour on every offensive possession.

Ken Holland should be looking towards building a third line that can deliver some offense after the opponent grinds themselves down defending mcdrai. Luckily he has some cap space to do it.

Nurse played 62 minutes! Incredible.

Highest on the Jets was Morrisey at 42 minutes.

I thought this series was a tale of both goalies. They both played so consistent and came up big when required.

Proud of the Jets.

Still terrified of McDavid.

An absolute machine.

Amazing goalmanship and a very close series even with a sweep.

This series showed that we are not deep enough, not hard enough on the puck and a bit small.

Now that I have slept it off, i'm on the Jets bandwagon.

I guess the big question is if you want RNH to walk or not. Was making $6M this season and is now UFA - he provides that secondary scoring they sorely need. Chiasson ($2.2M) can walk, as can Larsson ($4.1M) and Kulikov ($1.1M). I'd probably bring back Haas, Barrie, Koekkoek, and Ennis. Yamamoto needs to sign a deal off of his ELC which eats into some of the cap space. Annnnd Smith can probably walk, too.

Klefbom actually plays next year? Give Lennstrom a shot on the back end next year. Lavoie and Holloway should provide good L3 scoring support at the very least. Team should be better next year if they can add a decent free agent up front. Letting a player like Chiasson walk is literally addition by subtraction at this point.

ha

This series reminded me how much the playoffs are a different game, a team game and a game of determination over talent.

Don't forget goaltending. The reality of today's NHL is that it's very difficult to win the cup without your goaltender going on a superhuman run.

It's kind of funny, Hellebuyck is obviously respected but he is not the beloved marquee star... you didn't see that many 37 jerseys in the stands at Bell MTS Place, for instance. But it is apparent that this team would be hopeless if anyone other than him was between the pipes. Imagine even a slightly above average goalie instead of Hellebuyck... there would be no chance.

Leafs up 2-1 in the series against the Canadiens but have a chance to go 3-1 tonight on a back to back

Montreal's offense is a ghost town right now should be fairly easy for Toronto to outscore them.

Larsson is hand down the best shutdown D on the Oilers. Not bringing him back is a very Oilers thing to do.

Not bringing back Smith means they will have to find two goalies in a tight market.

Larsson is our most mature D-man, losing him sets us back a lot.
