I walked by there last night. It's on Olivier St behind Jean Couteau and the Pizza Delight. I couldn't find a sign or a picture, but it appears to be a commercial building that's fairly close to the road. Probably will be one or two floors. Satellite photo shows a white house and garage used to be there.

I know this has been posted before. I think Myles may have found it, but on a quick search I couldn't find any reference to it on the Dieppe thread, so I will post it again just to remind people of this proposal.

This is a link to a .pdf for a proposal by Cobalt Properties for a seven storey office building to be located behind the Irving/Circle K at the corner of Champlain and Paul St.

http://www.cobaltproperties.ca/files..._Dieppe_NB.pdf

This document is a couple of years old, but recent activity in the area is interesting:
- the trunk sewer is currently being replaced in the area.
- the Irving/Circle K has been recently refurbished.
- the Kent Building Supplies store next door is going to be relocated to the new retail cluster on Harrisville Blvd. This will open up additional adjacent prime land for development.

Are all of these changes in the neighbourhood merely coincidental.....

I would love to see this, but I worry that it may be dead, but the way things in Dieppe are going especially with apartments, its possible. Lets hope that we see something happening in the next year!

Also in Dieppe, the PlazaCorp website now lists the (soon to be former) Kent Store location on Champlain St as the Champlain Street Plaza Phase Two.

They don't have a site plan listed yet, but this confirms that they intend on using the former Kent property for a new retail plaza (as we all suspected anyway).

I've noticed this on Acadie street today.
There is also several houses on the other side of that street that are for sale. I suspect there will be more of this kind of development in this area in the near future.

Also interesting, the list of properties mentions a "Moncton East Lands" as being currently under development.

I wonder if this could be the rumored commercial development adjacent to Kent on Harrisville.

Yes indeed. It's on the corner of Normandie and Acadie, just to the left of the Home Hardware.
The red and white building is the Home Hardware's lumber warehouse.

Frozen Yogurt

I don't see this as mentioned here, but I tried the pay-per-pound Frozen Yogurt place outside Sears in Champlain Mall called Goji's. Interesting concept. A normal bowl of Yogurt will run you around $6.50. Not too bad... It is in the plaza where the sears auto centre was.

Interesting article in the T&T yesterday about an agreement between the City of Dieppe and a developer (Tridev) regarding an extension of water and sewer services in the Dieppe Blvd area, to the south of Melanson Road in order to allow for the development of two new subdivisions (Bon Matin & Le Faisan).

Access will initially be via an extension of Du Moulin Street, but they envisage extending Dieppe Blvd itself in about five years time. I don't know if the extension will only be to Leblanc Road, or all the way to Dover Road.

Also, the new fire station on that little nub of an extension of Dieppe Blvd will be opened this year and a new commercial building is slated for construction on the northeast corner of Dieppe Blvd and Melanson Rd. This could be the start of a new commercial node on Dieppe Blvd.

Downtown Dieppe

There's an article in the Acadie Nouvelle this morning about the construction of a 5 storey office building in downtown dieppe on the land between Place 1604 and the Townhall.

here's a link if you can read french: http://www.capacadie.com/actualit-s/...oeur-de-dieppe

Construction is supposed to start in 2013.

Here's a picture of the rendering from the Acadie Nouvelle:

Excellent news. This will be terrific infill for downtown Dieppe and will do oodles for actually creating a streetscape in that area!

Now, if only they could do something about Angie's across the street.....

Wow, fantastic news. This looks like a quality development, unlike anything recently constructed in the area. Hopefully a sign of things to come!

It`s also good that both Moncton`s and Dieppe`s downtowns are not all that far apart. I could see them playing off each other and building momemtum together and someday maybe even merging into one.

I really enjoy seeing these modern style developments going on in Dieppe. One cool looking building after the other. Nice!

If the town's leaders and some of their followers weren't so fascist about language laws, I might even cross over from Moncton and visit more often. Anyway, that's beside the point.

It looks awesome! It actually looks a bit like the Trillium in Halifax except way shorter. Anyways, that's great news for downtown Dieppe!
