Whoops, posted HTML code instead of the IMG code, here it goes again;

Doesn't it look just perfect? (Well, it could be taller, but 630 ft is nothing to sneeze at)

this is the last 100ish' of crane, taken Saturday... It has all since then been removed and trucked away.

and, here's how Main Place fits into the grand scheme, as seen from the I-10 HOV flyover

(I like how that utility pole is filling in for a certain missing tower that should have been built at 901 Louisiana instead of in Philly...LOL)

According to the Chronicle this morning, Class A space downtown has a 7% vacancy rate. What is Dallas' rate again?

Got confirmation that BG Group is moving into this building and also getting naming rights. It will be called BG Group Place.
BG will have 6 floors (29-34 of midrise) with option for 7 more, first right of refusal.
Currently it is 164,000 sq ft with potential total of 360,000 sq ft.
Tentative move in date is August 2011. KPMG will have top 4 floors (already known) with move in date of Feb. 1, 2001.

Beat me to it! Here's a link: http://blogs.chron.com/primeproperty...0/post_94.html

It's great news. The sooner we fill it up, the sooner we can build another.

Best news is, it's going to be home to their North American Headquarters and represents another solid commitment to downtown.

Having BP and KPMG as lead tenants is pretty damn impressive for a spec building.

It's BG, btw, not BP. And it's a 15-year lease, so yes, it's great to have a solid long term commitment to Downtown.
Also, one thing I heard about the LEED Platinum building is it has some sort of condensation recovery system. How cool is that?

that turned out well

looks very good at night

only thing that kinda not fits that good, is the look of the cut section in daylight it should look more transparent and not like a green concrete part like it is now.

It looks great! Thank you for the lighting update! It should be fun to see it in skyline photos at night. I love it both day and night.

Agreed. The spandrel glass used inside the cutout section is the only part of this tower that I don't like, and it's only during the day, when it's most noticeable. The glass and metal mullions used for the rest of the tower are so good, that it makes that greenish spandrel glass look cheaper by comparison than it probably would normally on it's own. Overall, a good-looking tower, with a minor blemish.

I wonder if it will light up like the new Methodist building in the TMC, that is with alternating colors. I'm not sure if that would fit with the building.

Awesome update. But in response to TexasPlaya's lighting inquiry, I think this buildings is a little too sophisticated for rainbow alternating colors, few modern buildings could pull off alternating colors without making it seem tacky. And I think BG Place should stick to one color lighting, i think a pale blue would be better than white imo.
