It looks shorter then I thought it would be but it still a great addition which gives the skyline a different look from angles which are not viewed as much.

I think it shows how tall DT Houston is to see a 630ft building just barely stand out in it.

There is not much left to this building since the roof is being put over the 46th floor. According to the rendering; I believe the crown will be around the size of two more floors added to the top.

In addition, the foot print on a number Downtown structures are quite large from what I can recall while living in Houston. As they say everything is big in Texas.

The temporary supports around the "gap" are being dismantled, which reveals the iconic setback at the top. It's a nice eye-catcher and will be moreso when the trees are planted.

I think what I love most about this development is how "urban" the base is. The parking garage is covered in glass, so it looks like an occupied structure. The base also fits nice and snug around an historic building which makes it stand out and look "welcomed" into the urban fabric. This is a successful place-making city block in my opinion!

This is the most significant structure to go up in downtown since the Enron tower almost 10 years ago. Everything else built has been in the 500, 400, & 300 foot range. Houston is doing a fine job of filling in its skyline gaps creating a denser urban core.

Yes, MainPlace topped out offically yesterday.
