Building the unbuilt: Pacific Plaza (Dallas)

Just playing around in SketchUp and ended up making an updated version of Pacific Plaza. It was a proposed building in Downtown Dallas in the late 80s but just like so many others proposed then, it was never built due to the fall out of the Savings & Loan Crisis. This is probably on the the most interesting buildings for DTD that was never built.

Links to the original proposed renderings from the 80s can be found here: Render 1, Render 2, Aerial

I simplified the exterior's glass, more details in the crown and service levels have silver glass that wrap around the building to break up the height. I still love the design of the tower but if it were to be built today it could be in a different location...

Prime alt location: NWC S Lamar St & Young St. This would fill a huge void in the skyline. Plus there is enough space for an attached parking garage on the same block. The views are unhindered by the rest of DT buildings and you'll have clear line of sights to Uptown, Victory Park, West End, The Ceders & The Trinity Park.

Any feedback would be appreciated. This was my first "finished" building in SketchUp.

Is that where it was supposed to be? It would have taken alot of prominence from Fountian Place, but its still a shame it was never built, along a list of many Texan postmodern beauties that never made it! Good job
