Nice. I hadn't seen those last two renderings.

I do like how this one takes a different shape from every angle. Kinda fun.

I like the east view then the north. The east view appears to be the sleekest and smoothest from top to bottom. Plus it looks like there will be a lit up vertical strip from top to bottom, perhaps a stairwell that should stand out at night. The only problem is it will be blocked from the building just to the east of it.

I'm really hoping the materials and overall presence of the building really sell it in person.

The renderings just look like a generic residential stacked on a generic office stacked on a generic garage. With a CVC cut out.

I WANT to like it, but I guess we'll see...

Same. I’m really excited about it, but refuse to acknowledge it as our “signature”

I agree.

Question: Does a city's tallest tower have to be its signature tower?

Personally, I do not think so.

Depends on your definition of a signature tower which varies amounst us here. I personally think the shorter Republic will have my vote.

But... But... Didn't you say it was too short in the other thread?

LOL. I don’t think it needs to be the tallest. Frost, 185 & Republic are my signatures.

I might be coming from a Los Angeles library tower perspective, which doesn’t have to be the case for Austin.

I have to agree with you. The Frost will still be a defining tower for years to come. Much like the Ferry Building is to San Francisco. It will always be iconic.

I'd say the UT Tower and Capitol will hold up the same over the years.

The core is ~17-stories up! This project's presence in the skyline is getting more noticeable by the week.

I suspect we won't get confirmation this for at least several weeks.
