Very possibly. I was at Papa John's the other evening and I asked the counter person if there were any new tenants lined up for Plaza 1909 and he said that another lease had just been signed but that he was unsure who the tenant would be.

Perhaps now we know....

Moncton NB location is 1909 Mountain Road next to Swiss Chalet

Just got this information from someone involved in the details. Can't wait!

Interesting, if you do a search online, there is actually a shoe store chain in the UK called Cara Shoes.

http://www.carashoes.co.uk

I wonder if they are related? Probably not - most likely a coincidence......

The signage is up for the Cara Shoes location and the logo is different from what is on the website posted.

I was at the Mechanic Street Shoe Repair a week or so ago and they confirmed they are opening Cara Shoes in the North End. They told me their work boots, hikers, etc...will be staying at the downtown location. The owners last name is "Caracristi", which resulted in the "Cara" name. When I initially told my mother about Cara Shoes opening she's the one that put two and two together and linked the name.

Very excited for them to open this end of Moncton. I've been a loyal customer of theirs for many years. They could teach the Shoe Company a thing or two about genuine service.

Finally made it to St. Louis Bar & Grill. My experience was nothing but shy of great. Prompt sitting, no waiting but it was Sunday at 6pm. Waitress was pleasant. We order wings dinner and steak n mushroom sandwich. We got Ceasar salad and House salad with our meals. Reasonable delivery time to our table. My steak sandwich was very good and I would order it again when i go back. We had no alcohol beverages but soda with our meal. Total bill was $35 for two. On top of it the waitress over heard us talking about my g/f's birthday and brought out a complimentary ice cream cake slice.

P.S. Go to www.stlouiswings.com and do a brief survey to get a coupon mailed to your home for a FREE appetizer.

Not sure if anyone knew but there is a Norwest Farmers Market on the side of Wedgewood Centre at 1201 Mountain Road. It has been open for several months now and it is not really a farmers market. No freshly cooked foods, fresh produce or meats like Moncton or Dieppe markets. It does have pre-made subs and stew, chili or chicken fricot in slow cookers which is quite good by Christine. There always seems to be only 7-10 tables with vendors. So only half full or less than half full. From my experiences when there, the Manager Pam is very rude and pushy. From telling vendors what they can and can not sell. It is more of a crafters market as Pam has turned down vendors that wanted to sell products like Mary Kay, Tupperware, etc...

P.S. If any of you stop in, let me know what you think!!

There are two lots under active development in the Moncton Industrial Park West. These lots are on opposite corners of the Horsman & DesBrisay intersection. I don't know what one of the lots is being developed for, but this sign is erected on the second lot:

It will be a new building for Parts for Trucks.

Well once again this forum seems to be correct. There's an ad on kijiji for staff for Mary Browns and the map attached points to 1909 Mountain Road.

This is the link for the pdf of the updated brochure (April 2013) for the Moncton Industrial Park West.

Not much new here, but the site map is interesting, and also the plans for future expansion and how this development will eventually integrate with the existing older section of the Moncton Industrial Park.....

City tourism director Ben Champoux was on Radio-Canada yesterday where he mentioned another upcoming expansion of the Magnetic Hill Zoo and the addition of tiger and leopard exhibits.

Scholar's Choice is moving into the Lounsbury Centre. The new sign for the store is up right now.

I presume that this is a relocation of their existing store on St George Blvd. That was a rather odd location for the store in any event (right in the middle of an industrial district).

With this addition, the Lounsbury Centre is back to 100% occupancy.

Well, the 100% occupancy at the Lounsbury Centre didn't last long.

Wicker Emporium has moved out. This is not surprising as they now have their new location in the Mapleton Centre. What is surprising is that they didn't close the Lounsbury Centre location concurrent with the opening of the Mapleton store. Instead, they kept both locations active for at least six months.....

Another tenant for Plaza 1909.

Mai Asian Restaurant is currently undergoing interior fit up.

Plaza 1909 is now 50% leased:
- Pita Pit
- Papa John's Pizza
- Massage Addict
- Mary Brown's Fried Chicken (opening soon)
- Mai's Asian Restaurant (opening soon).

It looked as if interior work was being carried out in two more units as well, but I couldn't tell exactly what was going on. The building permits on the storefronts were facing inwards and not outwards!

Another tenant for Plaza 1909:

Big League Burgers & Wings has a couple of signs up in the windows to the east end of the plaza. It looks like they might be occupying two units in the plaza. If so, this will boost occupancy in the plaza to 70%.

All of the tenants so far are restaurants and takeouts (except for Massage Addict).

Plaza 1909 current confirmed tenants:
- Pita Pit
- Papa John's Pizza
- Massage Addict
- Mary Brown's Fried Chicken (opening soon)
- Mai Asian Restaurant (opening soon)
- Big League Burgers & Wings (opening soon)
