nice , do you make the textures? or are they from your own pics?
or pics from the net?

i am new to Kerk also , i just change the reflections bar and the bitmap bar, then i adjust the 'gamma' and 'exposure' down a few notches in the rendered image 'save' screen

edit: ooh for Patrick , i havn't experimented with the clouds , but i was thinking i would just draw a backdrop into Sketchup and fill it with cloud texture , i dont do any navigating in kerk because the tools suck- i just export the exact view that i want to render

I assume you already know about how to change the sky via the Sun And Sky option under Settings. In the 'Adjust Sky' dialogue, you can change the sky textures via the 'Sky Type' draw box. It sounds to me that your problem is that you selected either Spherical Sky or Hemispherical Sky. What those options do is create a sky like that you'll find in video games, where the sky is moreso a ceiling with a circular or semicircular sky texture pasted on, so those options both need a specially designed texture to work. Use the option 'Background Fit Image' and that should work.

When you said you used 'Photon map' I was confused as it wasn't a setting in Kerkythea. So apparently I've been using an outdated version of Kerkythea, which means you can all expect some better renderings.

OK, just started using the new Kerkythea, and the renders are far more impressive. Using the last version I was wondering why my renders looked so much worse than everyone else's.

[These are some rowhouses I designed, completely unrelated to City City, decided to use them as a testbed for the Kerkythea 2007]

I wanted Kerkythea 2007 to flex its muscles so I rerendered that second image in pano. No longer shall my renders be cur-sed with a tint of blue!

I make all of my textures from my own photographs.

It's hard to do; you might have to adjust the pictures with photoshop to get it just right.

Bah, I've never done that. Every single texture in my city has had to be adjusted in Photoshop.
