SSP Cityscape Competition: University/College

This campus will be for the SSP City,
We need a fully functioning campus with residencies etc. with a modern style to match the city.
There is no height restriction , that would be limited by student population (around 10 000)
The college is located in the city so would probably focus on business related study. It will be surrounded by plenty of parks so it's up to you to decide to add sports fields for recreation as well.

Here is the area.*The size has changed*
It doesn't have to take up the whole space.
The area is around 980' x 490' / 300 x 150m and is sloped about 15degrees

Download the area here http://http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?
If you don't want to use the sloped land download just draw it on the flat area and i'll edit it into the city later(if you get more votes).

I had move the area a bit and reduce the size

(some parts are drawn in ms paint)

OK,cool. I think the allowed time shoud be expanded for this,it will proablytake longer, especially if we cant use textures.

Count me in.
Ive added the needed info to the Archives.

oh, i'm still finishing the stadium! Anyway, kudos for your arena Mo, I think it'll look great in SPP city - perhaps next to a megamall.

University campus... let's see. Here in B.A. colleges private or public are generally big buildings, in some cases towers. But I guess we're looking for the citadel low rise kind of campus. I'll see what i come come up with. interesting.

Sounds good. I guess we can extend the deadline on some occasions depending on the difficulty of the project.

Are there any rules?
Do you have a specific block you want us to build it on (best if you did)?
Any type of architecture (modern, bricks, Gothic)?

I'll start making my buildings and then later on if you upload a block then I can add landscape, roads, sidewalks, parks, all that jazz.

I these supposed to be massive or will they be near the city center.

i guess what i'm asking is should all the buildings be towers or can they be 8-10 stories over a wide area

I just made it simple knowing it would be a big project so i'll keep an eye on your comments and make final rules by this time tomorrow

I will grab a peice of land from the city for downloading

Style can be anything as long as it uses modern material but really i'd love to see super modern - get creative !

Pretty much a city college that has been properly planned/built/funded

A 'compact' campus is best as it will be close to the financial district and city center ,probably along the highway or in the open space to the north of the financial district amongst park and highway connections .

I will make the land about 1000x1000 ft

Our College system in Australia is pretty different from the US so let me know if anything else seems weird -

A really long strip of land on the waterfront would be nice too. Near one of the bridges. Then make it go towards downtown for 2,000 feet by 500 feet or to the waters edge to make it less squarish and boring.

That's huge. can work on a sloped piece of land. But you should make a flat lot in case somebody doesn't have much experience with sloped land. Have you uploaded this lot yet?

Yeah ,while it's not an original idea it just makes sense for a group of young people to design a modern/high tech/efficient campus

*** The comp is ready .

I was going to upload a peice of land to model onto but just do it on flat ground and i will edit it into the SSP city map's slopes

or

build it on a 15 degree slope

You can use window textures also but they wont be able to be rendered which would be a shame, so hand drawn windows on reflective parts is prefered -you can use any texture at all for hand drawn models

The maximum size is 2000' x 1600' / 600 x 480m
You can use as little or as much as you want but you'll need to keep it under 10mb otherwise file transfer is not possible

more details in header post
