^I'm pretty sure the Hotel Indigo proposal died. Oxford is opening some yet to be named boutique hotel.

Apparently this is one really complicated project with lots of site constraints and unknown building conditions. That's what stopped the last developer and has held this project up from advancing much over the last year.

Edit: found an article on Crain's that this will be called Hotel Julian:

Anti-Gentrification Plan Makes Developers Pay Big For Building Near 606

A board made up of leaders from local groups like Logan Square Neighborhood Association and Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) would use the trust as a vehicle to build more affordable housing in the area.
Yet another one of these. I predict there won't be any money going into their little trust, because development will dry up. That will mean fewer units and less affordable housing than if they'd simply done nothing.

Also notice how the "trust" is actually a slush fund controlled by non-governmental "neighborhood groups" that just so happen to be avid supporters of these aldermen.

Nothing unethical here.

That name Moreno seems to be coming up in the news a lot lately...

Would this take up the entirety from Madison to Warren? If so then that's really big...

Yes, indeed. The North Building is facing Warren Blvd, while the South Building is facing Madison Ave. I honestly didn't expect to see this lot developed during this construction boom, so I am fine with what is being proposed.

The answer would be to make the basement heavier so it feels more like a garden level. More like so:

There are also ample examples of 3 and 4 flats in Lakeview and Lincoln Park with ground level entrances, which emply similar principles

At least half the aldermen are crooks and almost all should go. The job is set up for corruption.

An old footing - poured on top of the brick and refuse that was pushed into the basement when the previous building was demo'd

In other zoning change news, 11th ward alderman, Patrick Thompson, is following Leslie Hairston's lead and is downzoning Halsted Street, from 35th St to 38th St, to RS-3 zoning.

I assume that this development won't be knocking down the old Viceroy Hotel building, but rather take the empty lot to the west of it along Ashland?

Also, surprising they put the larger building on Warren as opposed to Madison. The added density would make sense there as Madison is becoming the Main Street of this part of the West Loop. Retail space here would do wonders as well, helping bring some of the action on Madison further west.

I don't think so - the old hotel is now a rehab-halfway house - pretty impressive. Would be nice to be so close to Union Park.
