I think they're planning a crane jump soon. That might be the reason for a slow down.

Yeah, they can't go any higher without a crane jump.

I can't find any permit related to a crane jump. But it's possible that they don't need to close any right of way for the delivery of crane pieces. The site is certainly dead now.

We have a forum member who wishes to remain anonymous and has some inside info about this project. Construction was temporarily halted due to positive Covid-19 tests among some workers. Deep cleaning will need to be completed before work resumes.

Views from the balconies on the west side are stunning! But they're going to be crazy hot in the afternoon sun!

I think the Hilton looks better now, but the painting theme makes it look only about 20 floors.

I agree with you about the Hilton. But what really makes the Hilton look better even before it was painted, is the Hilton Garden Inn and its neighbor to the south of it.
I have made several trips up and down 35 in the last few week and the Quincy is a really nice filler, actually more than that, its quite impressive especially with all the mehness around it. Its just what that corner needed. A proper highrise.

The Bellagio in Vegas has a similar paint/window scheme. Definitely makes it look shorter.

I don't know if the paint scheme makes it look shorter, at least not to me, but it does make the middle section look like palatial sized rooms with 20 foot ceilings...from a distance. Overall, big improvement.
The design is more functional than exciting, but that's what we got back then, uninspired architecture. When I worked in San Marcus, I drove by it everyday and it was one of the more imposing building downtown while under construction. Now its shrouded in mehness, but I still like it and think it adds some value to the skyline. I just thought I'd mention that.
