That is a bit nitpicky , but you're right - short answer is I never knew or noticed there was a small town there

Yep sure - after I have posted Boston, NY and Philly, I will do an entire BosWash map - probably the yellow kind as a 100.0km zoom would be too big. Philly is complete, Boston and NY are both nearly done, so stay tuned!

Holy cow! This is not meant to be a knock on Atlanta, but this really shocks me. I thought Denver sprawled pretty bad, but this really puts Atlanta into perspective, for me. I mean, Ft. Collins is like a 1 1/4 hour drive...on the interstate!

Nice job on Philly! I hadn't realized how quick suburbs turned into farms southwest of Camden! Although I have to inform you of two minor errors: 1. There is no break in urban area along the Ridge Pike corridor between Manayunk and Norristown, and 2. There is in fact a long and very narrow stretch of urban area (called Shawmont) along the Schuylkill stretching from Manayunk up to Spring Mill, which you did not include. That those are the only two I can find is really good!

Now you need to show how Baltimore/D.C. and NYC relate to it. Heh, you could even stitch together maps from the Hampton Roads up to Portland to show how the whole Northeast Corridor is one mega-region (you could also do the same with Randstad/Ruhr/Lille/Paris/London in Europe and Hiroshima to Tokyo in Japan).

P.S. Portland is really compact! So is the core urban area of Denver (excluding secondary centers like Ft. Collins and Greeley).

Thanks! Are you sure about Ridge Pike? This is the area you mean right? -Link. There are quite a few houses around the golf course but N-NE of Manayunk theres a large empty ravine from what I can see. Or do you just mean along the river?, in which case you're probably right, theres quite a few houses under that forest cover.

I'd like to do something like these in time. At this stage the Northeast Corridor from Hampton to Portland is the most likely - of the corridor I would say about 80% of the mapping is complete.
