As I noted above, once the forms move up, the next set of hangers for 3 more floors will be installed, to be followed by concrete pours for the missing corner pieces that you see in the photo (each set of floors have cantilever support from the angled hangers).

If you look at the photo I posted, you'll note that corner columns are for the two floors only (they are reinforced concrete btw), while the third floor may not require a corner column*... its ceiling is the 4th floor slab which will hang from the bottom of the next set of hangers*.

*Don't see any corner column forms for the third floor .. so that's my theory ;-).

You're right, the height increase is vital because then the top section will be symmetrical with the others. I don't understand why the city would refuse such a minor increase, but curiouser things have happened.
For any of us to be around to see the finished product, these guys will have to pick up the pace.

This thing is breaking the sound barrier now (compared to a few months/years ago ;-).

thaivic

Walls poured and forms for the next floor slab underway.

Forming up some more (missing) corners. At some point I knew why the corners, supported by the hangers, were left until later to be poured... but now I've totally forgotten.

Walls and columns were poured last Wednesday evening, and today (Wednesday) they are pouring the the next floor … never seen that accomplished here in one week.

They have also placed the rebar cages for the next mega-columns and inner core (elevators). Gob-smacked lol.

Ready for another big concrete pour for walls and super-columns… just 5 days after the floor slab was poured… not bad ;-).

Benito

The crane in the centre of the photo. If Sam Mizrahi gets his height increase to 94 storeys, The One will rise taller than the top of the frame in the photo below (almost pencil tower status ;-).

The tallest on the right is One Bloor East @ 257 metres… so The One would be more than 81 metres taller, just across the street.

The One will appear just left of centre in this shot of the growing Yonge Street canyon.

When it’s sunny... it still pours.

How about a week between pouring a floor slab and then pouring the walls and super-columns?? What parallel universe are we living in?

Literally the slowest construction of a building I've ever seen that hasn't fully stopped construction (though I know this has a couple times).

^ Old news but thanks for trolling (welcome to the ignore list, they're a fun bunch).

The point of my post (if you read it)... is obviously that pouring a floor slab and then the walls and super-columns in just one week (instead of a month or two months or...) is pretty good evidence that times have finally changed (thanks to skybuild elevators and new forming).

P.S.

Already forming up the next floor today.

They're almost done they've only got ~85 floors to go

To put this project into perspective, when it started Barack Obama was president and Stephen Harper was prime minister

The ink (concrete) is barely dry on the floor slab just poured, and the wall forms and rebar are already flying up... at 7 am this morning.

Who are these guys?

Can’t imagine this One @ 94 storeys. Almost a pencil tower, built to withstand an ICBM missile strike.

^It seems like this is truly cooking with gas now! Let's just hope of course the trend continues, and they keep up this pace.

Seems to have grown quite a bit recently, is it finally approved at 1,110?

It looks like we'll have to wait on a City Council meeting in January to see if they approve this height or not.
