All they had to do was move stuff around and cut surface parking. That's it! This one hugs the road, hides the parking, and gives a suburban street next door plenty of breathing room. I haven't seen the details but I assume the buildings are of somewhat varied size and appearance?

All six storey buildings, but they are all architecturally unique, yes.

Signage is now up for the new KFC at Magnetic Hill. They are still working on the Burger King façade.

Still lots of interior work left to do, and the parking lot is not yet paved, so don't anticipate an immediate opening.

I have just received a tip from a source indicating that the new Popeyes under construction on Mountain Road next to Arbys will actually be of the same style as the proposed Popeyes to be built in Fredericton next year.

This is not a surprise really, this style is the one they are using on their more modern restaurants. The render they presented before Moncton PAC last year was probably just a placeholder.

I have just received information that Popeyes will not be opening until Christmas time, or, perhaps not even until early in the new year (if there are any construction delays).

We will have to be patient.

Signage has now been installed for the Burger King too. Still lots of work to do.

Equipment is back on site at the Horsman Centre.

I don't know precisely what this mean, but the Corey Craig website states that construction is (was) to commence in "Spring 2022", so maybe they are planning a start. In any event, there is still a lot of site prep left to do.

Activity on site today. There is additional tree cutting going on, as well as some site prep.

There are now stakes in the ground at all four corners of the Mountain/Bulman intersection. This presumably is in preparation for the new set of traffic lights to be installed here later this year.

Speaking of this intersection, there is still no sign of the four storey.commercial building to be built on the SW corner of this intersection. Also, there are no signs as of yet of the proposed three 6 storey apartment buildings to be built on the NW corner of this intersection.

Maybe next year.........

Nicer looking buildings than the 2 they already put up next door.

This long vacant (x years) storefront on Mountain Road is finally going to have a new tenant.

The Spice Shop is a South Asian grocery store, specializing in Indian and Philippino products. They have an existing location in Dieppe. This will be a second location.

https://www.facebook.com/SpiceShopMoncton/

The main problem with this location has always been parking. Hopefully they have come to some sort of accommodation with the produce store next door.

There is a request before Moncton PAC for their July meeting to allow fill in excess of 1 metre on the lot on the SE corner of the Ryan/Amiens intersection.

This lot is large enough that this could be being done in preparation for a multiunit housing development or an apartment building. We will have to keep an eye on this one.

The lot next to the house has also been adding a ton of fill over the years. I always thought this would be a good location for a small bit of retail, like a gas station or coffee shop or something.

The KFC/Burger King combo store on Mountain Road at Magnetic Hill is getting very close to opening. The exterior is complete. When I drove by this afternoon, interior lights were on, and I would say the interior is largely complete too. They were paving the parking lot and drive-thrus this afternoon.

This location will be open in early August for sure.

If you go on Google Maps and zoom in close enough, the map will show you "Popeye's" on Mountain Road.

And yet they still have not announced the restaurant. This is hilarious. I mean, everyone knows - even Google in Palo Alto, California knows.

Google maps actually relies on its users to add places. Like recently I updated the Dollarama at Northwest Centre and someone had added the store being called “Dollar Store” haha. So I changed the name, added the hours and phone number.

Someone likely went in and added a restaurant for Popeyes. I don’t know how much follow up they do to verify information, however.

I'm pretty sure Google does 0 follow up or verification on user added content. Which explains why you get these random "businesses" literally in the middle of nowhere on the maps. (I think I found a "tattoo shop" business on an arctic island once).

Though there are usually enough eyes on cities and toes to keep them mostly correct. Just take the things in remote areas with a grain of salt, especially if the sat views show nothing out there.
