I'd say this is certainly the case here. It seems like something slapped together in 15 minutes on MS paint.

Well, they got the name right at least. It is definitely a Halifax-style tower. By that, I mean short and stubby.

Holy yuck. I thought it was a tear down, not the finished product.

I truly hope the developers see this comment. You are 100% correct.

The letters look good I guess. Too bad they gave it the most generic name available.

It sounds like Borat named it.

Oh dear.

The only saving grace is that this hotel is located in the gulag of Bayers Lake anyway. At least it isn't downtown.........

It's an extremely ugly area. There's really nothing unusual about this building except for the height. In fact it might be a bit above average for the neighbourhood. I don't think it's that bad because either (1) you are far enough away you can't see it that clearly or (2) you're close enough that you'd already be in the ugliness of Bayers Lake.

I guess it sort of makes sense as a building if it's taking its cues from the surrounding architecture. I can see hints of the Cineplex, Second Cup drive-thru, and Lakeside Dental in there!

I also wonder, would we have been as disappointed had we not expected and been shown something much better in the beginning? For me personally, I'm sure I wouldn't have cared as much.

Reminds me of the now demolished Keddy's Hotel at the airport terminal.

Well, of course. People are pissed at being conned - and justifiably so.

Not that it's of any real worldly consequence; it just makes the developer look like a flaming dick.

The Keddy hotel never proceeded past the "stacked cinder block" stage. I guess we could debate which was uglier.

Hardly a glowing recommendation........

"Hey Bill, I'm staying at the Halifax Tower Hotel, the tallest ugly hotel in the city, really sticks out like a sore thumb, but, compared to the neighbourhood it's in, it may not be so bad after all."

It's a CHOICE HOTEL for fuck sake - when did they ever offer anything of quality?

They are cheap and usually made of cheap parts - shortly lots of things will not work or there will be low water pressure or???
