On a serious note... why in the world would the truck drive up citadel hill? That's terrible logistics coordination.
Photo op for the press release. Or they're delivering kilts.

Would making a joke about packages being picked up be too much?

Not the best day to do this, but you can see the three cranes in each of these pictures.

Great pictures. The Citadel crane is impressively tall; hopefully we'll get another soon and then some nice buildings will follow.

Your angle for the first shot is very similar to an old photo from the NS archives:

That's what the HT wants Halifax to look like... doesn't it appear so inviting?

It's interesting how a lot of that has changed. In the past waterfronts were not very desirable because of industry and sewage, but now in some cases they are prime residential land.

Some people's negative present-day perceptions of cities don't make a ton of sense today, but their provenance makes sense when you consider the way cities were in the past. These prejudices have been handed down from Victorian times.

Well, seeing as the foreground is HMC Dockyard, now CFB Halifax, and it looks pretty much the same.... or even more industrial..

I like how the shot includes Quebec or Ontario, one of our WWII cruisers.
