Touristy TORONTO

Back in June I was in Toronto on business for few nights. It was my first time in town since 2009, so I had so do some touristy stuff to see all the changes the city has seen in the past 5 years. Here is a bunch of photos of the familiar locations that I took during the few nights there.

Toronto City Hall is well-known from the Resident Evil: Apocalypse movie.

Old City Hall is right next door.

Toronto has an impressive skyline and the city has grown upwards a lot.

First Canadian Place is Canada's tallest skyscraper (298m - 978ft).

L Tower (205m - 673ft) is designed by Daniel Libeskind (hence the 'L').

This being Canada, of course there is a Hockey Hall of Fame museum.

South Core area is extending the CBD towards Lake Ontario.

Formerly world's tallest structure - CN Tower (553.33m - 1,815.4ft)

Up in the SkyPod (446.7m).

Toronto classic view.

EdgeWalk is a tour for the brave.

CN Tower's glass floor was one of the first in the world. Still pretty scary.

The times they are a-changin' in Toronto. I haven't been to Toronto in a decade, so it's nice to see your excellent shots of the towers being added to the skyline.

Beautiful shots! Come back in another 5 years and you won't recognize the place.

Seems that I forgot to post my second and final set of touristy Toronto photos around Downtown that I took back in June. Here we go.

Aura, Canada's tallest residential skyscraper.

Dundas Square is Toronto's version of Times Square. This area will be getting more urban in coming years with more towers going up around it.

Shangri-La hotel

Ripley's Aquarium of Canada was a great experience.

The main attraction is definitely the very long submerged glass tunnel. It's was amazing.

Toronto South Core rising.

Dusk in Downtown.

Canada's tallest building First Canadian Place.

CN Tower lurking.

Finally, two shots from top of Marriott hotel.

Very nice pics.
I wish the a shark tank had a glass roof and was lined up with the glass floor of the CN tower.

As an aside, you said that Southcore was spreading the CBD towards the lake, but seeing as how it's like 80% residential I'm not sure if calling it part of the CBD is totally accurate. (I might be wrong though.)

Enjoyed this tour a lot! Toronto is amazing. Thanks, Klaus!

I´m wishing to step the CN´s glass floor again to observe the views from there. First time there in 1995 and second time in 2000, it´s too much time from my last visit.

All those new skyscrapers being built are amazing, and the Aquarium too.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Incredible shots! The first photos looks very New York-ish, Toronto is really a must see!

My last time in Toronto was in 2009, but even in five years the city had changed quite a bit and one could definitely tell it. But from 2000... It's a completely new city when you visit next time.
