Well looks like the deal is done. Another longtime blighted property is finally being put in the rear view mirror. Looking forward to seeing what Bayou Phoenix can do with the old Six Flags New Orleans site. https://www.wdsu.com/article/new-orl...lete/43236662#

Of all the construction projects currently going on: Superdome, Charity Hospital, Aquarium/Insectarium, Caesar’s, River District etc. Which are you most excited for? And what do you think is spurring all this development?

Charity Hospital because I live across from it lol... and the river district as well...those projects will have more economic impact too. The new container port in Violet is exciting to me as well since that will be a huge impact on jobs as well.

Any new developments as far as construction on Charity? Haven’t heard anything new in awhile. Is it mostly interior work being done at the moment?

There haven't been consequential updates, but it's full steam ahead for sure. Entirely interior at this point. Tulane very much wants to start using it as soon as possible.

What about the proposed Biodistrict? This is the revised map; does the yellow indicate future expansion to different areas of downtown and the surrounding areas?

Alongside our partners at Green Coast Enterprises and Chase Marshall Architects, we're excited to share the completion of Phase 1 in the redevelopment of the existing commercial building at 4528 Freret Street into 14,000 sq. ft. of office and retail space (about half of which is already leased) and the future home of the New Orleans Homeownership Center.
The Homeownership Center will have significant positive impacts on the neighboring community, serving as a hub for finance and homebuyer education and providing other valuable tools to help first-time homebuyers.

Anyone know whats going on with the municipal/traffic court? I know its been "temporarily" in the VA hospital building, but then there was significant damage to the building due to Ida and it already had renovation work done just a couple of years before, yet I'm sure they said they'd only be out a few months and then I read it might be demolished. I'd be quite happy if they just cut their losses and kept the court traffic in the CBD tbh in a purpose built facility on one of the many parking craters off Poydras.
