I'd love to see a rendering with this and 156 Front St together. They should make a balanced and significant impact on that bit of the skyline.

^^Agreed. They both will be great additions if tey are built. Also the are the first 200m+ office towers proposed for a while. Depending if you call 45 Bay a proposal.

I love this tower but it's too bad they're preserving the current junk on the site.

I always wished someone would demo it. It's hideous and dosent even make the slightest attempt at engaging the street.

I totally agree. The more I think about it, the more I wish they would demo what's there and have a nice grand entrance to the tower podium. It's going to look so out of place and unengaging next to a tall, glass office tower.

What cycle would that be again?

Construction in Toronto has been pretty much continuous for over 7 years now.

There has been silence on this one for about 18 months. Same goes for the nearby office building whose name escapes me.

That would be 160 Front, 240 metres, across the street.

^Exactly. Have you heard anything new on those two? I'm not very enthusiastic about either design.

I haven't heard movement on any Toronto office projects.

Figure that the 81-181 Bay Street development is probably the closest of the major towers, set to begin.

New renderings have come in, the tower is proposed for 264 metres now.

Quoted from Canada's 50 Tallest proposals thread;

Ew, it's so fat and stubby and boxy... this is a serious downgrade from the original renders.

Of course big produced this shit.

^It is far too thick, I agree, but I disliked the previous one with the ultra-banal glass exterior and strange curves at the top even more. At least the step-downs at the top of the latest version are interesting.

As GeneralLee noted, height has increased to 866 ft (264m)
