the University of Oregon looks like it is much more nicely scaled than the typical large and often overpowering flagship public university.

That's very true. In the following photo, all you can really notice of the university is the new basketball arena at a slightly zoomed in view.

Thanks for posting these. Eugene's a pretty cool little city it reminds me of a miniature Portland & is a lot more exciting compared to Salem which is of equal size!

Thanks. It's funny to say Eugene is a little version of Portland since I have always felt Portland was a bigger version of Eugene.
