Impactful yes, commanding, maybe not. Neither tower will be any much taller that the apartment tower next to it.

Nice to see 111 John Wesley and The Metropolitan both adding some more E-W dimension to Downtown.

Didn't realize 111 JW was that far along.

I 100% agree. ThreadATL posted about that recently. There are some streets in downtown that are 100% under city control (e.g. they can't blame GDOT) that are 5 lane one-way streets with lackluster sidewalks.
Example from Courtland Street (this is not a real proposal from the city):

That's not something that can be expected of developers whose primary accountability is to their stakeholders. This is something the city should be doing/planning. Unfortunately we all know that we don't have the most efficient or proactive municipal government in the world at the moment.

Bulldogs looks so sweet and innocent in that photo. There is no indication of the riotous anarchy that bursts from its doors every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 2:30am.

I remember when it used to be 4am. Slinging back and forth from the Armory, Backstreets, and Bulldogs. I loved Sunday’s there. They had food to feast on.

I remember those days too. I remember the bar hopping. When one place closed and we still wanted to hang out, we went to another place that was still open.

I think the later and staggered closings may have been better instead of closing all bars at 2:30-3 which may create a more rambunctious crowd letting out at the same time and more crowded streets with drivers who have been drinking.

The good ole days, it was amazing, no one on a cellphone, lol. Just a bunch of horned up people...On another subject, 903 is rising faster than Midtown Union..
