It COULD, Freefall, but building a tower literally blocking every view from the NY Condominium Tower will likely incite multitudes of (likely frivolous) lawsuits that will certainly slow everything down to a halt for several years. Building something shorter is likely a maneuver to stem those legal actions before they even start.

I could say something (many things) about the already-insane traffic and severe parking issues along Inner LSD and Lakeview East in general east of Broadway, but I won't in this situation.

Honestly, I just want to see something built on this huge piece of undeveloped property in a prime location. I think a proposal in this size/height range is a reasonable compromise, overall.

I would think both projects are in Cappleman's ward, especially given that I was in his ward and lived essentially right behind the Jewel Osco at Brompton and Pine Grove.

I remember thinking I was in Tunney's ward, but his office confirmed I was, in fact, in Cappleman's.

I thought 310 N Sangamon dropped the "going green" elements from the building a while back...

Will 310 N Sangamon completely block in the rooftop bar at the Ace Hotel? The view of downtown from the Ace is spectacular. I might have to ante up some more money and start staying at the Hoxton.

The more I look at it, the more I wish the red brick continued all the way up instead of the all glass facade.

I really like all three, but 345 Morgan is gorgeous. I love the masonry work and the arched windows.

Are you sure? I know that the unremarkable brick structure at 12 W Maple is a goner, but is that tiny historic building just to the west of it also going to be demo'd?

My understanding is that it too will be gone.

Yeah I've been looking at it because something feels off... I think it's that the all glass facade is flush with the bricks instead of being inset slightly to align with the inset windows below. It's a small detail but it makes it feel less cohesive.

^ Totally agree. It would be 10x better if the top portion were aligned with the inset windows below.
