One would have to think that some kind of a mixed use configuration would be best. There is a trend in other parts of the country that even incorporates residential units into re-purposed shopping malls. Bottom line is that it just can't stay like it is forever. The good news is that the location and potential are great.

Little Ceasars is cheap and they have 3 locations in the GMA. I'm glad to see another franchise expanding throughout the province. Their pizza isn't awful a step above some of the other options in town

I think the mall could use an anchor store uptown market square or Brunswick hope you don't like this idea but I thought give Target a chance again. There was word Zellers was going to reopen stores across the country any word on them?

Sephora will definitely have an increase on foot traffic in the mall. Right now you need to go to Freddy or Moncton for higher quality make up. Good job McAllister!

Construction work is set to begin on Monday, April.4th. Sephora will be a great addition to the mall.

Also, C Vogue, (sells leather bags, which had a pop-up kiosk this past holiday season), has returned to McAllister Place. Their products are now available at a new store called Your Shoppe - Accessories || Customization. (Never heard of Your Shoppe before, didn't know it opened at the mall).

I saw on Reddit and Facebook that the owner of Let's Hummus has started a new grocery store uptown called "Be My Shopper". It's going to be at 100 Water street and due to open this month. Today was the first I had heard about it!

Should be interesting, especially if 99 King gets a grocery store too!

Looks like Games Workshop is opening a retail store here in the city. Job listings now online for a Store Manager.
Currently there are only 18 locations across Canada. Will be first in NB. Perhaps they are opening at McAllister Place?

That's a big win for SJ.

We have Gamezilla in Moncton which sells a lot of their stuff. Games Workshop tends not to open in markets where their affiliates are already established (understandable).

Gamezilla is nice, but Games Workshop is nicer. There is an existing Games Workshop in Halifax. One of my son's visits it regularly anytime he is in town.

It's a bit surprising they are setting up in SJ since Gamezilla's main store is in SJ. I suspect they won't be happy with that news. I wonder if it may be partly COVID related; GZ probably hasn't been able to do many live events in their stores for a few years now, so Games Workshop may figure the market needs a pickup or something.

I know here in Freddy, GZ's business seems to be pretty evenly split between card-players (Pokemon, Magic, Digimon) and the miniature players, with the Anime/Manga buyers being a distant but significant third.

There's chatter that what appears to be contractors, were let into the former Regis Salon at McAllister Place yesterday. Perhaps something will be going here soon.

Also, the newly renovated and expanded SoftMoc is now open. The new store looks really nice, a great upgrade for them.
