Ultra was in the news earlier this year about the professional engineer responsible for the design of the building not using aspects of the 2006 BC building code concerning wind and seismic loading resistance. That engineer was fined and his license revoked. In lieu of the news, Strata enlists professional engineers to do an analysis of the building. The report came in yesterday and they concluded the following:
In other words, the building is safe, but the professional engineers cannot guarantee the structural integrity of the building under extreme conditions. The engineers are not adding any guarantees to the building under extreme conditions, but this is just for liability reasons.
