Thats the name of that restaurant. I don't know if it is both parking lots but if it is the Waterfront Warehouse will be demolished.

This is the one next to bishops

Discussions are happening between the developer and WDC. this was confirmed in an article last week. It didnt say it was starting soon however.

Would be nice to see another gapped filled.

So Waterfront Warehouse stays for now i guess. Hopefully there's something in the plans for that lot as well.

Probably will be.

That being said it would be nice to hear something on Queenslanding development as well. Both would fill the waterfront nicely.

It took three years for the Salter Street development to get where it is. I guess a Waterfront Warehouse redevelopment would start up sometime after construction of this development finishes.

The Waterfront Warehouse site is not under a viewplane as far as I know (United Gulf is in the same sight line) and in the HRM by Design renderings has a large building maybe in the 15 storey range.

There are some differences between what is in the report and what is shown by the renderings. For example, in the renderings the buildings extend over the boardwalk but in the report they do not. This was something people complained about (wrongly, in my opinion - I think that feature added interest), so it was changed.

As for the features that remain, the more I look at the project the more I like it.

This project looks better and better every second. Correct me if I'm off but once this is built it will leave 2 or 3 spots to be developed or rebuilt on the waterfront; Maritime Museum (Queen's Landing), Water Street Power Plant (Emera has plans for it), and the Waterfront Warehouse (nothing that i know of).

Looks like a re-routing of the boardwalk along the site will take place in the fall with the full-scale development a go for 2009.

I was also hoping they'd start construction this summer, although it is good to hear that they are starting with improvements to the boardwalk.

Four years of negotiations..? In many cities a project like this would be physically completed in a couple of years. It's hard to imagine a good reason for things to take that long.

I heard with good authority that it won't start until spring. The boardwalk around this property will be done this fall though.
