^ They were supposed to be in the 900-1000 range with the current design, but the Park's Commission objected at they thought it would cause shadows upon Central Park. However that was proved to be false later on, and they didn't want them to be over a 1000 ft. They could easily go.
What's with the Time-Warner Center lying about the floor counts. They're apparently both 55-stories, but somehow they're trying to claim they're 80 stories?
How do they get away with that?

They really didn't have any foresight when constructing the TWC. With the current boom along 57th Street this will look tiny in comparison (225W, One57, 432 PA, 107).
The TWC should have been at least 900'.

Didn't they begin only a month or two after 9/11? Aside from the shadows over the park, it makes sense why they went shorter when considering the time. I think they look fine as is though.

I always liked these towers. They fit the location on the corner of the park perfectly. This is one of the times that what we ended up with was much better than what was proposed.
