Is there any drone footage which shows the concrete pump used at The Travis?
My understanding is that it's been shrouded in an acoustic barrier from Echo Barrier. Yesterday, I spoke with a JE Dunn guy at the entrance to the construction site and he mentioned that it's out of sight, slightly below grade.
I bring this up because I'm a resident at SkyHouse, which is directly across from the 700 River St project in the area, which is creating major noise disturbances in the early morning hours --- 1x/week, concrete pump begins around 1am ; every weekday morning, (2) 400 kVA generators are energized. Both City of Austin and DPR (contractor for 700 River) have been contacted multiple times by residents and SkyHouse management with little action taken. I went about it differently by identifying Echo Barrier as a solution and reaching out to a rep at Echo Barrier to see if she could offer her perspective to CoA and DPR. She was shocked about the concrete pump without any acoustic barrier. All we've gotten so far is more empty promises from CoA/DPR and this has been going on since January. Residents on the lower north side have it the worst and many ask for transfers to other units on the opposite side on the building.
Is it really a bridge too far to ask for these acoustic barriers to be used?? The Echo Barrier rep mentioned that she has a working relationship with DPR in other regions (Chicago, NYC), and they are generally very willing to make these type of accommodations with the the community, so this seems unusual. Any other suggested actions -- contact the owner/developer, contact media to shame them into submission??
