Evening of New Year's Day.
Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. Being that January 1st fell on a Sunday this year, the Rose Parade wasn't held until January 2nd (today). People always start camping out on the parade route the night before for the Rose Parade. Here you see a KABC-7 Eyewitness News live shot, I'm pretty sure showing their usual "People are camping out tonight for the Rose Parade" schtick, with some interviews of said campers. Incidentally, I saw quite a number of Utah license plates around town, presumably because of the Rose Bowl game (Penn State vs. Utah).
