Took a closer look today...Your right, not sure why it's a little messy at that bend. The concrete finishers will work their magic.
Looks like it was a two stage concrete pour on that area.

Thanks - looks worse than I thought!

isn't the plan for a Meinhardt's on Hornby?
Toyota showroom on Burrard, unless I missed something.

Woah. Those two massive cracks in that huge thick post and the misaligned angle are not giving me much confidence in the integrity of that construction.

Of course it could just be the angle we're seeing it from and the zoomed perspective making it look weird, but oof...looks bad.

I don't think those are cracks.

That's a forming panel that failed. Top right got pushed into the concrete, bottom left got pushed out. Created lips in the face of the pour that from afar cast a shadow and looks like big cracks/voids.

That's right, those are shadows cast by the sun positioned at 2 o'clock relative to the photo.
Formers (carpenters) and others would be a little disappointed, it's a large patch work for a finish product, it might need extra maintenance care to keep a chunk of it from breaking off during this buildings' long life span.
I'm thinking it's at the very least a half of a millennium build. If it's popular, maybe a future heritage building.

I'm sure they would have remediated the problem if it was serious enough. It probably is just cosmetic.

Equivalent of one floor to go?
Probably to the top of that rebar shown, and enclosure of the lantern (if it is a lantern).
Slight variation in the setbacks up top compared to the model.

PS - so one half of that spine will be painted dark gray?

Notice that some of the top floor windows and panels where a shade darker.
Was not sure if lighting or shadows was the cause, so I took another picture today.

Maybe the darker panels were reflecting the deep blue sky and the ligher ones were reflecting the lighter coloured skyline?

Here's my guess. It's because the ceilings are not painted yet.

You can see that the balcony ceilings don't have that light colour yet so maybe it also means the interior ceilings are still unpainted. I guess we'll see soon enough.
