^Well yea... dont we all think of parking lots in the loop as opportunities for something of decent height..i mean of all places where you have some flexibility to build taller you see a building of squat proportions as a missed opportunity...yes its better than parking lot but its still a missed opportunity
I am honestly impressed with how it turned out, but as others noted... it's definitely a missed opportunity because of the additional lake views they could have gained with additional height.

I agree. While I'm never opposed of course to infill (unless egregious in some way lol), this definitely seems like a prime spot to take advantage of, especially since the neighborhood has so few empty lots like this

I think many people fret over buildings not being taller as a "missed opportunity", but I for one am happy to see parking garages, parking lots, etc replaced by buildings like this.
Right, I think we forget about how important 2-400 foot buildings in large quantity are for a skyline overall.
This is entirely why I bought a truck with a sunroof.
I wish more sites would give over their construction barriers to local artists. There were some in Toronto (?) that would make me wish the project never ended.
How hard is it to give some school a stack of 4x8 plywood panels and say go at it ?

I was holding off on my reservations for how the red brick would turn out, and while it isn't finished, I do wish they stuck with the yellow-er brick. But dig those X-brackets soooooo much
