The only things I am jealous of N Austin having over S Austin are Top Golf and the MLS stadium.

If y'all are interested in that Bowie parking garage, here's a quick 15-minute video overview of it from Wednesday night.

Seems like they put thought into it. Good for reducing impervious cover with the new Bowie expansion.

It would be nice if they could do the same for Crockett eventually. And I know there would be some good skyline views up there. You can already see the tops of the Independent and Austonian from the jogging track, and several buildings pop up from in and around Garrison Park and Manchaca Road. I haven't been up there in a while, but I know you can see the very top of 360 and the Frost Bank Tower from the ACC garage across from Crockett.

8103 S. Congress
308 unit MF - 2 of the old Spillar lots just a little south of Foremost Dr.

https://abc.austintexas.gov/web/perm...rtyrsn=5293882

8534 S. Congress
4 new offices/warehouses (38,500 sq ft)

https://abc.austintexas.gov/web/perm...ertyrsn=833066

4402 S. Congress
QT Convenient Store/Gas Station - 2 acres seems awfully big for a gas station. I guess it'll be a big one. It's going to be across Congress from the new apartments going up on St. Elmo.

^^^^this 2 acre gas station perplexes me. Why there??? It's a stupid location to put something like that on a site which should be used for higher density... it makes more sense somewhere near Ben White (290/71l

QT is a bit of a Bucee's wannabe so their gas stations can sometimes be a little larger than usual.

Here's a similar QT that was built in San Antonio this year: https://www.crexi.com/properties/171...p-near-usaa-hq

It's close to 5,000 sq ft like the on planned on Congress. It's also on a 2 acre lot.

I'm assuming they need so much land because of impervious cover and drainage. They're dropping the existing impervious cover from 84% to 68%. And it'll probably have water retention.

I'd prefer a Bucee's anyday over whatever QT is, never heard of it. At least Bucee's has a cute Chipmunk for a mascot...

QT is out of Tulsa. They're apparently expanding. They bought 100 acres of property all over San Antonio.

They even opened a large convenience store in downtown Atlanta sans gas pumps.

QuikTrip is all over the place in Atlanta and the southeast. I much prefer them to Buc-ee's, as they are substantially easier to navigate and much cleaner.

Cleaner than Buc-ee's? Which one did you go to that was dirty, everytime I've gone to a Buc-ee's I'm always impressed with how spotless and bright and how clean the bathrooms are... I'd like to see a gas station that makes Buc-ee's look dirty...

I didn't mean clean in the hygienic sense, but rather in the design sense.

Found this: http://www.austintexas.gov/edims/document.cfm?id=295668

It shows the layout of the apartments, but no elevations or anything.

It'll be 3 buildings. Nothing special.

Buc-ee's is a terrifying manifestation of American gigantism. It is grotesque and seemingly devoid of a soul. Still, I have always enjoyed the Brobdingnagian experience of shopping there or gassing up there. I guess maybe it confirms my worst fears about this country in some satisfying way. Go figure. The bathrooms are something else though. Fit for a king (of the road) kind of guy.
