Reflections from the sun might make the stacks stand out more than what might be desirable. Focus should be on the historic buildings on the Hill, not industrial smoke stacks.

Because of its orientation, the sun won’t really strike it directly when viewed from the Quebec side, and there are enough tall buildings in that end of the CBD on the south side. I think a highly reflective surface will make it blend more instead of sticking out, kind of like how Chicago’s “bean” seems to have no mass.

I wonder if it would be feasible to heat/cool the new Central Library from the Cliff Heating Plant?

They mentioned that some LeBreton redevelopment could be plugged into the system, but nothing specific on the Library or Library District.

Wow very cool! The Class F airspace around Parliament ends exactly at the fountain behind the Supreme Court, I should get some shots of this with the Mavic Mini!

Ideally, they'd allign with Vittoria St as well, although they seem destined to be further north.

Would be cool. While you are at it, get some shots at Zibi too. Lots of activity there as well.

Thanks for the pic. What are the three cranes in the west end, behind the pile driver? Too far East to be one of the Westboro Station towers.

I think two are light standards, and the one in the middle is the Mizrahi project corner of Island park and Richmond

One's probably The Azure or whatever it's called at Richmond/Woodroffe.

If it's an urban shot prior to the latest shots I've posted it was taken with my DJI Mavic Mini.

It it's an urban shot posted yesterday and beyond it's taken with my new Mavic Mini 2.

A lot of my older shots were taken with my Mavic Air but there are few urban places it can be flown legally, even though I'm licensed to fly it. I sold the Mavic Mini and the Mavic Air, the new Mini 2 does pretty much everything I need from a drone and it can fly virtually anywhere legally (with the exception of Class F airspace).

Not sure what the finished product will look like (haven't been following this project) but crossing the Portage Bridge yesterday what's there at the moment sure looks like an eyesore amongst all the buildings that line the edge of the river.

I'd been across that bridge hundreds of times before and nothing ever jumped out at me like that.

It was a kind of mini-Rooms-above-St-John's effect.

This is what it will look like:

Things are picking up steam at Tunneys Pasture. I cycled through about a week ago. A large amount of pipe is being stock piled at the heating plant site. A flat bed trailer arriving with more as a rode by. East bound Columbine Driveway is now fenced off and closed between Sir Fredrick Banting Driveway and Tunneys Pasture Driveway.
