I think there's going to be a new building on the corner of Post Oak/ San Felipe (verizon wireless) eventually. Property was bought and verizon moved to new building in pavillions.

This will be a 40-story, 745,000 square-feet residential high-rise with 350 units and two floors of retail by Lynd Development and AmREIT.

Really? Interesting news, Urbannizer! Though it does mean even MORE construction noise for those of us who live at the Rice!

I can imagine, with all the projects. Generally speaking, what times does the noise start and stop? Can you see a lot of it from your apartment? That part of downtown is really changing.

I have a direct corner view of the 609 Main project. From the roof of the parking garage come the views of the residential tower at the Market Square Garage as well as the residential tower about to start up according to Urbannizer.

As far as times, well, let's just say some days are much longer in terms of noise than others. And when they're doing concrete pours, all bets are off in terms of time...

As busy as I thought the Houston construction scene was when I visited a couple of months ago, it has ramped up even more when I dropped over the Christmas weekend. The crane is up at 1885 Yorktown, the work on the Galleria is moving right along, the two Hyatts are starting to get clad, and that's just in the Galleria area.

Those apartments don't look more than ten years old. Even at build-out, they are essentially replacing the existing units one for one. Ah, well...

As long as suburbia does not replace suburbia, then I think its great.

Though it will be situated in the western edge of Montrose’s Winlow Place area, the building will be named City Centre at Midtown.

The article indicates about 18 years old, but that's still amazing. I wonder if there's anywhere else that buildings of that age are torn down.

Rumors have surfaced on Swamplot about a development that is displacing the Cornelius Nursery on the Katy Freeway. Office building? Apartments? No one is saying...
