Mc'Connel & Son

It was designed and built in 1927. Originally it was only Dermit Insurance. just a massive structure that towered over the rest of the city for nearly 45 years! Until 1967 When Darrel Weis came to town and built his structure (will obviously come later). In January, 1939, Dermit went bankrupt and sold the company to the Mc'Connel and Son. To this day the Mc'Connel family still owns the building and continues to hold their law offices there.

well, im not sure which white building you speak of so... the building touching Mc'Connel is simply 1782 Shulls Blvd. Its an insurance company. the other is IDK maybe the new Western expansion, or is it to far from the original?

Mc'Connel & Son Tower?

You should name it something else a little more Northeastern. Something like, the Whensworth Building or The Intercontinental Tower. The Scottsburg Tower maybe?

Looks great man!

I agree with what Austin said, the low rises should be mostly old style buildings with some modern (glass, abstract, international) style buildings about twice as tall jutting up from midst of the buildings. That are would probably be the "filler" between the main downtown area and the tip of the island.

For the other tall buildings you have planned I would suggest two oldstyle buildings, one thats tower based and another thats like the Rockefeller Center (old style box). The other two or three would be more post art deco/stone and would include the second tallest. The one I would picture would be very much like your old Western Bank Expansion and would be up to the terraced part of the Wentworth Tower.

Keep up the great work!

You don't need history, just a good name. I still think that Scottsburg Tower is more suitable because this tower was the tallest for 45 years right? It needs a symbolic name. Unless you're gonna make another tower with the same name.

I really admire the towers that you've made. They all suit your city well, and fit in like a glove. I wouldn't worry too much about the history as well. It's nice to think up a little something, but you don't have to get that complex with it. I was never a big fan of making history to go with my cities either.

WOW, I am really impressed with that port, and that bottom shot of the glass box was outstanding. Do you plan on keeping your city mainly older (art-deco) buildings, or do you plan to have more boxes? The both you made came out really good.

Thanks! It will mostly be old deco and all that what not, but i'm planning on make a huge downtown. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to texturing and boxes are easy to make so there will a lot of boxy buildings too.

also i forgot to post this earlier

^That's really cool. Do you plan on having any shipping companies in your city (such as Maersk Sealand, Hanjin, Cosco, Evergreen)?

Do these off ramps look realistic for a bridge?

The curves are a little to tight. Cars traveling at 30+ mhp would probably flip on their sides and since it's a freeway you don't want slow moving traffic, specially in a bridge. You would need to keep traffic moving to lessen the travel times and ambulances need to go at high speeds sometimes.

Those are the only things that are kinda funky but the rest is fine.

I love that you added smoke to the smoke stacks. Very clever. I also love the third shot in your post 207. It looks great! The last shot on the same post looks awesome too, all you need are some windows here and there in all buildings and it's finished (the block).

Holly gees, those are some tight ramps. I don't live in NY but it looks like there wold be bad traffic there.

Are you gonna have more bridges? Cause then this could be a bridge and you can have new bridges where roadways are thicker, turns are less sharp, etc...

Sorry to go off-topic but what resolution is your screen? Cause it looks like you have windscreen from the looks of that shot taken from Earth.

i know i thought they were quite hard turns but then i looked at the brooklyn bridge and figured whatever.

Yes there will be several more bridges. but idk if i'm gonna make all the offramps like that. JEEZ it takes long and they dont even look THAT good.

K, two questions.

1. How does it look?

2. Are there too many towers (keep in mind the bridge is nearly 10,000 ft long)?

Thumbs up

I think it looks great, and it'll look great with your skyline. I think you have more talent than me with infastructure. The on-off ramps look very good, and the highway effect under them look awesome. I can't wait to see it completed.

Keep the bridge towers as they are, they really look good.
