Ah, thanks. He's always been spot on.

Do any of you MODs have access to change the information on the database and diagram pages? I too like to compare buildings using the diagrams and with this one being off, it's a bit challenging.

Approaching downtown from the north on 35.

From the SB 35-to-WB Ben White ramp.

This is a great photo. Depicts how towering the Austonian is, and perspective for how grand the new one will look if it’s to be 100 feet above the formers roof height

I don't know if this has been shared yet, but this article has a cool (kinda fuzzy) depiction of what the skyline will look like with te Republic and 6XGuadalupe

My absolute favorite view of downtown is from the EB Ben white to NB 35 ramp.

I feel like The Republic is too tall in that picture. It’s only supposed to be about 15’ taller than The Independent, but it looks nearly 100’ taller in that image.

Incredible view up there. You're at the top of a 100+ foot tall bridge that itself sits atop a high prominent point. The whole city lays before you as you make that descent down the ramp.

Seconding this. Best view in the city hands down. Just a shame you can't soak it in for long, unless I-35 backs up enough to clog ~3,000 feet of onramp.

I was stuck up there once due to an accident. Didn't mind. Had a Snickers.

Just some crappy cell phone photos from this afternoon from a trip to the airport.

We were on our way home from work from Dripping Springs and took US 290 to SH-71 at the Y in Oak Hill and then through south Austin to the airport. From one vantage point along SH-71 in southwest Austin, I could see Sixth & Guadalupe rising above The Independent behind it. I think the elevation change between the two building locations is having an affect on that, but it was the first time I've actually seen it peek over the top of The Independent in a view.

From the SH-71 flyover westbound over I-35.

Yeah it looks like it's about 50 ft shorter then 6XG. Might be a distance/perspective thing, but WOW it looks cool as HELL!

One thing is for certain - a tall building is needed to fill in that gap in the skyline. Hoping The Republic can start construction soon so that entire picture can become a reality.

I don't think it's the Republic that's too tall. I think 6xguad, Indy and Google building are all too short.

I agree. I've always thought that about Block 185 in that rendering, but I've never mentioned it because the rendering is SO F---ING COOL!
