^ Thanks for all that information, avcellvs. The Century Metropolis sounds like quite the ambitious project. Not surprising at all seeing as Li Ka-Shing is involved.

Staff, I haven't been up the Benz building since you were here, but I remember some workers hammering around when we were there. Not a good sign for us 'sneakers'.

Shanghai Fan, Pudong, although sterile, is pretty sweet for us skyscraper fans. I was driving through the Century area at night last week and it seriously looks like 2050 with all the crazy neon lights flashing on top of 150m+ towers. I counted a number of cranes around too.

I found this huge render of the Dong Hai plaza. This tower is going to be so cute. Take notice that they used the Guangzhou skyline in the render.

Great find, Shanghai Fan. This is the first time I've ever seen a rendering of it. It looks way better than I ever imagined.

July 17, from skyscrapers.cn

Look at the right side of the pic, there are two buildings u/c, two new skyscrapers, maybe? There is also a BIG plot next to the Suzhou River, is the Gate of the Hongkou District supposed to be proposed in that place?

If I remember correctly, the left plot is a short office tower in the 20 floor range. Not sure what the right plot is. I've been meaning to head out that way and take pictures, so maybe I'll go investigate these next time.

What is that stadium visible in the top right corner on the north Bund aerial?

They should really make the area around that little "canal" a nice place for tourists to hang out. It has potential...-

A couple updates:

Glass is FINALLY starting to creep up Donghai Plaza. The long, long wait is over.

You can see it barely on the bottom left hand side.

Closer

And I also noticed that Shimao Plaza has finally put up some decent lighting. For such a iconic building in Puxi the rainbow christmas lights surrounding the spires were not cutting it. It looks amazing at ground level now.

Sorry for the poor quality...no tripod.

Shimao is the tall, fat building to the right of the main cluster. It is outlined in blue lights.

Another plot in Jing An is being cleared. There are only two or three more plots left in the area. I have no idea what is planned.

Here's the location

They really need to install a glass-less deck there!

Here's another shot of the ShiMao's lighting setup:

@giallo, I think that plot isn't the same as this, but I'm not sure. Who knows.

^ No, that is a different project.
I found out more about the project in Jing An though. It's an extension of the already built Kerry Center (the blue building in the center of the photo I previously posted. It's a 152,400 sq meter development. It will include a hotel that will be run by Shangri-la, retail podium and residential and serviced apartments. No renderings as of yet.

The first one you have quoted looks familiar to me, but I think I have never seen the bottom one. Have you got a pic?

No, I don't. I'll try to grab one in the future. The final product differs from the rendering a bit.

I think we'll have to start a thread specifically for the North Bund developments. It's getting crazy over there.

These were all taken on Aug 7

Here's one of the five cranes that sit directly on the N.B. site

Here is another site right next door to the N.B. development. It may be linked to it judging by the rendering

Another crane to the left that has it's own plot unrelated to the NBD. Sorry no renderings.
The red crane shares the site with the crane in the second picture posted.

This crane is BIG

And here's the building (at left). Ain't she purdy?

Wow. we have been waiting for that area to start booming so long! Great update, giallo.

Ivalice. has posted these pictures in SSC...

I have not idea what this project is:

Here you can see some cranes being erected in the north east part of Lujiazui. There are new ones to start rising over there too...

The first picture is of the Hongyi tower

And here is the aerial again of the second picture you posted. I believe all the project here will be luxury residentials
