who said San Francisco doesn't have great modern architecture?

What's that second one, I'm not familiar with it but it looks gorgeous.

Locals, do y'all like the renovated Union Square? I miss all the greenery and dozens of palm trees.
Buy Francis Ford Coppola's The Conversation...it's a classic film in my opinon., and you get to see lots of shots of the old square.

Great photo thread btw...I'm ready to move back!..just need to make a fortune because I wanna own!

Are you a disguised San Franciscan or do you just have a good eye? The first building you posted is the (once) Crown-Zellerbach Building (Crown-Zellerbach used to be large paper company that was merged out of existence). It is probably the first building in the international style built in SF and has always been one of my favorites even though a lot of people now think it is too "short" and don't like the little park-like bit of grass around it.

The second one is "The Infinity", otherwise known as "300 Spear" and there is a thread about it here: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...=67546&page=10

pictures like these just blow me away...especially after viewing pictures of overland park kansas...amazing that they both exist in the same country, let alone the same plane of existance.

54 photos of dowtown San Francisco, none of them showing the ugly pyramid. Bravo !

Hopefully, I didn't offend anyone. For the record, I'm a big fan of San Francisco.

I like to think I just have good taste I've only been to San Francisco once (best vacation I ever took, can't wait to get back) but I didn't spend much time downtown, except on my way to Chinatown and he hills. I am a big fan of early international style buildings, especially with blue or green glass like Lever House or Pepsico on Park Ave. And to the contrary- I think this style works best for smaller buildings, because the detailing, though fine, is sparse, and on a larger building tends to get repetitive and overlooked. I like my modernist jewel boxes.

Actually on Part 2 there are a few shots of that Pyramid tower.

There is just no way that if you are in San Francisco and you don't take a photo of that famous tall San Francisco tower! Same thing if you are in NYC and don't take a photo of the Empire State Building.

Thanks for all your comments guys! I really recommend to anyone who hasn't been to San Francisco to go and visit! You won't be disappointed.

Hey, you're only human. Cant' be perfect all the time.

The reason why I hate the Transamerica pyramid so much is because I think that it was responsible for a bad zoning that resulted in a lesser skyline.
Things will change though.
