We have a good number, I'd say more than a dozen. There's a lot of highrise apartment clusters from the mid-century that formed their own skylines years ago.

Lots of gear, forms, elevator (and other) systems to build this (you can tell I have an engineering background ;-).

Mega-columns and walls poured and new forming just a couple of days after the last floor slab was poured. The photo below is the 9,763rd of the project on UrbanToronto… more than half of them I’d bet were shot by UT forum member Benito lol.

27th floor slab being poured yesterday. They’re working at a pace of a floor (and walls, mega-columns etc) every 7 construction days. Darn good for such a complex build.

I guess because of the diagonal beams which is the reason why you said that. Difference is that The One is the first habitable supertall that's being built in all of Canada, whether residential or commercial, which is also a decent looking building, nothing flashy, but tall, decent, and respectful foe a growing metropolis like Toronto, while Philadelphia had every opportunity to build a decent and revolutionary supertall, but the one Philly had built is basically ugly, & hideous, detracts from what was once a beautiful skyline, IMHO.

Either way, The One has nothing to do with the CITC, and it's a much nicer project. I can only wish that Montreal do something similar and not stay stuck in the past because even if Ottawa is planning buildings on Lebreton Flats that are about 700-800 ft, then Montreal should follow suit.

Speak for yourself. While I agree maybe CITC could've been a bit cooler, it fits the skyline well and the giant lighting feature really adds a great landmark building to the skyline at night. Only thing I personally would change about it is making the lighting change color.

The thing i'd change is it's location so it's not right next to another really tall tower

Agreed Gresto. It's clunky and the spire is one of the ugliest architectural pieces of "pizzazz" I've ever seen. Philadelphia's skyline looks much better without it....aka prior to it's construction.

This building is SO not comparable to Comcast Center. Comcast Center has ruined Philadelphias once beautiful skyline.
