Cool!! Great shots, Jeeper! And thanks MobyLL for the explanation- I would eventualy thought that something, at one time decimated the downtown to make it so drab looking. That brings the appaerence into context.
Hell, uglliness is everywhere, I need to shoot Kenmount section of St. John's!

Wow I never would've guessed that of all my photo threads the one of Lubbock would get so much attention. It's amazing how worked up people can get about such a small city. I appreciate the critiques though.

^Negative thread names get the most attention. The best viewed Pittsburgh thread was called: Hell on Earth. hehehe. So for your future threads, if you want a ton of replies, name it something negative, like: Dallas, so bad it raped my grandmother.

Uuumm, honestly....Nice photos, b...u...t....I don't think I could live there. looks worse than Dayton, which is pretty bad. I'm sure it had its glory at one time and is slowly trying to come back.

yes and no. it sucks, yes...but for an overgrown college town that is the center of the small ass of nowhere, it ain't all that bad. it has a good deal to work with and does a decent job of working it.

Good advice, for my next thread I'll call it, "Houston - Spilt Fuck"

^Plus, if you've ever wondered what it would be like to see a tumbleweed blow down the street in a city's downtown, then just go to Lubbock.

By coincidence I was listening to "The End" by The Doors when I was viewing this thread. All the crazy angles of some of your shots mixed with the psychedelic music made viewing the photos extra scary... I started to wonder if this was indeed the end. Looks like the perfect setting for a horror film.

I think it's all about perspectives. If I were 22 years old, and a college student, Lubbock would probably drive me nuts. If you are me however, in your mid 50s, born in Buffalo, still living in cold, with arthritis killing you in your knees, neck, ankle, and sholder, still working after 27 years with 3 to go, Lubbock looks DAM GOOD!At this point in my life, I just want to say "WELCOME TO WALMART",find some good apple pie, a park bench, Direct TV, CNN 24-7 (except during NFL season) buy some size 16 Lucasie Crock/Lizzard boots, a Hoss Cartright sun~blocker, and an additional big-booty black girl in Western boots to show me the x rated version of "The Texas Two step". HOT DAM, IM LOVIN LUBBOCK ALREADY!
