5 hours! Wow, all that time and you are just waiting. That's why I like keeping it simple with my cities. I couldn't wait that long for one building (and not even having it finished at that).

yeah i do them before bed too but still i spend more time doing stuff like that and waiting for files to be sent to Kerk etc than actual modelling
Keeping the materials list low will help alot so i can make heaps of renders

But doesn't intercepting vertical lines just makes more faces which slows the computer down?

Have to delete all the spare ones cos deleting each line reduces 2 faces to one :yep:

When can we start voting for the map? I'd like to get a grid plot so I can finish my plaza. Personally I like mine (as do I'm sure everyone else likes theirs).

We really need to choose and vote on some textures .
We needa huge city the only way is to all use the same ones .

I think i might scrap the palette and we all choose up to 20 textures from SU and just post the names of ones we use.

Is that confusing ? I'm trying to make it easy

Is this city going to be a New York style (where buildings are right on top of eachother), or L.A. (where buildings are more spread out)?

hmmm, good qeustion. I think it should be a lttle bit of NY,but with lots of museams, parks, aquarums, lowrises and stuff that will break up the skyline in la style

The 3 building complex I'm making for the city is set up to fit in an LA style city, but would also fit on a waterfront for a NY style.

Good point , a bit of both would be good . When the map is ready we can discuss that and grid layout maybe

Those textures are cool Austin but they is gonna make the file size big , The SU ones are pretty friendly and export well to Kerk

Not to sound like a broken record, but whoever else plans to put in a map entry, PLEASE do so ASAP so we can continue on. I don't see why we can't have a poll by tomorrow. Sound reasonable everyone?

If we decide by night is good because of the time zone i'm in, i can work on the map and hopefully post the land lots before U.S people wake up the next day

With the textures y'all can just go ahead and use any textures that are found in Sketchup , If the model doesn't export well then i can do something about the file size later . Just try to use a small number of textures as possible please
