The plastic covering Keith Hall was gone when I went by today, on the bus. <-- steins of Keith's IPA, of course.

It is good to see that the Keith Hall was restored. Apparently the entire sandstone facade had to be taken down and rebuilt - http://www.gfduffusandco.ca/KeithHall.htm.

Here is the planned work for Keith Hall, which must be close to completion - http://www.halifax.ca/boardscom/hac/...s/keithrpt.PDF

Hard to please? The first development application for "The Alexander" was submitted in 2002, for crying out loud:

http://condo-company.ca/building/the-alexander

And "The Alexander" proposal was approved in September of 2008: http://www.halifax.ca/council/agenda...0114ca1119.pdf

It's now been almost 12 years since original submission, and 6 years since approval.

I'm actually very easy to please: just start the development within, you know, at least a decade from your original submission, or half a decade since your development was approved.

These guys make the Three Moes look like X-Men.

Grabbed this yesterday. The quality of the stonework and detailing is very impressive. Something you rarely see anymore. Still some work to be done though.

Looks great except for those light fixtures, they should have used the bowl shaped ones.

Its going to look great when the portico and mansard roof go back on.

The brewery tower/Alexander isn't really a "Moes" situation. It took several years for the project to be approved (this was pre-HbD), and the market had changed significantly by the time the developers were cleared to proceed. During that period, lots of other developments went up, so I'm not sure it made much difference from a city-wide perspective; there's only demand for so many condos and apartments. When this is finally built however it should be a pretty nice addition to the city. It might even end up looking a little better than it would have had it been built 10 years ago since design standards were lower back then.

Any word on what happened with the anticipated October start?
A delay would be better than nothing.

I can't picture this starting anytime soon, the parking lot is still rented out, nothing is on site to indict otherwise

Has anybody noticed if anything new has happened with Keith Hall? It looks like they've also installed lighting on the facade. I was pretty impressed with the Waterside lighting when I was in town last; it makes those buildings look a lot more inviting.

When I was In Philadelphia many of the buildings in the historic district had the exterior lighting for the facade, very nice.

Some news related to the tower: https://www.killamproperties.com/inv...releases/36966

Killam has purchased the Brewery Market and will be a 50% partner in the tower development. The press release also mentions that construction is expected to begin in the second half of this year.
