The FFKR (348 South Temple) project is happening. About 140 units from what I know. I'm assuming they will break ground around Jan-Feb. It'll be the pre-exisitng building facing the street and another 7 story taking over the parking lot behind.
I knew that they looked at remodelling the existing Deseret News building, but decided that there might be a better option. As to what that is exactly, we will have to wait until an official public announcement.

Yes, that one is happening as well. It's looking nice. It's an adaptive re-use of the original IBM building into apartments and then a new 7-story apartment building behind it. I'll wait until there are official public documents to post any images.

The Elks apartment project I was talking about is this, though:

What towers? I only see phase I, unless the second image is a partial clip of one of the Phase 2 towers:

Ok... Residential tower is 28 stories, office tower is 16 and hotel 14. Add 7 stories for the garage/retail underneath each one. Decent height!

Wow, thanks for sharing. Delivery 2024 on phase two so they should move very soon if that info is still up to date. I’m liking the shapes and height. It’s almost a little too dense. It will be a great addition to the city

Nice find! That's a huge design upgrade over the previous version! I love that the taller residential tower is on an oblique angle.

The last rendering includes the Theatre Tower in the background too.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. But it doesn't have the CCH. Strange.

Wow! From my count this development will add nearly 900 units and most likely over 1,000 people to the downtown core. This has to be one of the more transformational projects we've seen in this city, no? Does anyone have any updates about the Greek Town development? With the reconstruction of 200 South this section of town is gonna be so much more vibrant.

There are rumors that the LaFrance Apartments will be coming down soon. Otherwise, nothing to report.

200 S is going to be very urban! The CBD is definitely spreading westward!

Interesting to note that 111 south main is missing for some reason in this last rendering, but they do have the theatre tower in the background which is awesome to see. I am very pleased with this design, I love vertical stripes in high rise facades, and I like all the white appearing in Salt Lake's new towers, someone on here said in the last several weeks that it's reminiscent of Miami, and I agree, I think more and more towers with white in their facades coming to Salt Lake will give the skyline a very classy and clean look, and I think it matches Salt Lake City's aesthetic and pays homage to the iconic white architecture of temple square, as well as the snow that caps the mountains of the Wasatch range above the city, so exciting to see what's happening to this city.

Ohhh I see Orlando. That Elk development looks pretty good. Also, the West Quarter renders don't show the Hyatt Regency, so with those two combined it will absolutely look good driving downtown.

WOW!! So much coming up it's kind of overwhelming to digest. I am really enthusiastic about the changes on the West Quarter Phase II. And now, it looks like Astra and Convexity are just around the corner, plus a residential tower immediately to the East of Harmon's, not to mention several towers on Main that are in the works. And then there's the Elks development, which I am so pumped to see a major development worthy of So. Temple. Does it seem like developers are in a race to beat inflation and predicted hikes in interest rates? Incredible, who knows what Salt Lake City is going to look like in ten years or even five years

Who here can aim the "youtah" webcam on the Wells Fargo building down to the Astra site? I'm curious to see what they've got going on there.
