Woah!
That tall for the area, isn't it?
Mostly lower mid-rise buildings in the arrea, right?

Nice looking tower - simple.

Hah, will the NIMBYs be out for this one? Interesting question. Looks good either way.

Seems like one of those towers around Commercial Drive so I don't think it's that dramatically out of place.

Just a couple blocks from Dude Chilling, to be precise. Twelve floors is pretty much par for the course in central Mount Pleasant.

What an evening! 349 E 6th approved! We emphatically thank
@CityofVancouver Mayor and Council for another EPIC night of discussion and debate. We are once again spurred on by your support. Onward with more affordable housing in Mt Pleasant!

A pretty nasty hearing overall with one individual who remarked that, after this is built, everyone in the neighbourhood is going to be looking at the tenants thinking "you're the ones who destroyed our neighbourhood."

Seems like the right fit moving forward towards the completion of the Broadway Plan.

Yes. A run-of-the-mill rental tower, which is just like the ones next to it but slightly taller, destroyed our neighbourhood.

I've got to imagine city council is trying to contain their laughter in these meetings at this point.

They're so close to getting it. It's not the tenants destroying the neighbourhood, its the intransigent privileged residents who want to preserve the place in amber than let it function as a living, breathing community that evolves over time that are destroying the neighbourhood.
