In edmontons defense as someone who lived far north the roads take a beating from the winter - potholes are a way of life and usually are not repaired that often due to the fact that another winter and they are just gonna be wrecked again
so they tend to patch the holes and every decade (guessing) will do a full repaving
it doesn't look pretty but its a weather problem
Exactly and occurs in most of canadian cities.

The buildings of the current boom that will alter the skyline have only just started (re: Stationlands, Ironwood, Valleyview, TNP's highrises on 86th St, etc. etc.)
^Beats me looks like somebody's sneaking in the canterra tower from Calgary. A lot of the other stuff is only proposed. (And since when do we have 2 bell towers)?
