Quebec City - Is there another city that looks as good in the summer as it does in the winter? Most other Canadian cities seem to treat it as a throw away season, something to struggle through until spring arrives, but Quebec actually celebrates and accentuates it.

Ottawa density as it is wouldn’t be that bad if they just mixed it up a bit more, more colourful, quickly buildings, through in an awesome 8 storey building next to a a 20 vs building another boring 20 beside a boring 20. And taller buildings where it fits. That being said, it still has a ton of gorgeous buildings and is pretty good for pedestrians.

Finally have some Victoria skyline shots to share - to support the Greatscapers’ contributions! I think we’re the only two in Victoria that even care about that type of thing.

Thanks Zoomer... I find it strange that hardly anyone photographs skyline shots and city shots of Victoria. It always seems people photograph the Legislature, The Empress and some old town photos. The city is so much more than that. That said I always enjoy walking the town and taking photos. I've just haven't done it in a while. Been so busy. I really do love those photos you took from the seaplane...just amazing.

Hey GS - what’s the white blob in the third photo of Victoria you just shared? It doesn’t quite look like a cloud, but looks more like a snow patch on a mountain kind of how Grouse Mountain looks in the winter, but it can’t be?

I haven’t post much at all this summer, but will catch up on a few shots around town before the weather turns. These were from last Wednesday in Victoria, starting off with a well done new apartment building:

Quadra and Johnson Apartments by JohnnyJayEh, on Flickr

The Hudson District - you can see at the far right the final tower being built on the former Hudson Bay parkade, a 23 storey rental building.

One block down - the Chinese Public School:

Same block:

Opposite side of the street:

Crossing over the Johnson Street Bridge in Vic West, and just past the the high/mid rise area by the harbour you get into residential again, and have to say I really like these newly completed townhouses:

Hey Zoomer. Yeah I noticed that snow patch on the mountain too and was wondering what it was. I wondered if it was the San Juan Islands but this was taken on March 10th. It might be Grouse Mountain. A very interesting mystery.

Also those are great photos. Thanks for sharing them.

Those townhouses in Vic West are really different, I wouldn't have clocked the flat roof ones as new without you telling us, or looking closely. They seem more like a reno of older row homes. But knowing they are actually new, that's really nice. Very appropriate for that neighbourhood

Posted on Ottawa forum. The "Garden" was established in 1967 as part of the Centennial year. Beautiful spot.

I will add some more Québec pictures your excellent set, @davidivivid.
I had my phone with me yesterday. I decided to take a walk on the walls of the old city.
I may have spent most of my life here, I still enjoy walking in old Québec for the beauty of it. It was a chilly evening, it was somewhere around 10/12 degrees outside. Most of the people that I encountered on the walls were tourists. On a tuesday night, the Vieux was quiet.

^ There is no other place like Québec City. Moved there a decade ago already and still doesn't regret my choice!

Acc888yow - Beautiful, colourful and vibrant shots of Ottawa in the rain. Love how they’ve choked and slowed down the traffic on this street, part of the reason why it’s an appealing streetscape. Mind you this area was still vibrant the past couple times I’ve visited a few years ago.

McKinsey - As for those Vancouver pictures, the views around and from the Granville street bridge sure have changed drastically the past half decade. Almost looks like a different city now, can you imagine the view the other way when the high density First Nations land get developed! To steal Franks line - Vancouver is certainly a city like no other! Is there any other city in the world that is as instantly recognizable as Vancouver (well, to the city/urban geeks)? And gorgeous Quebec shots Masoliantekw! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Quebec City looks great in all seasons, is there another Canadian city that even comes close in this regard? That being said, I’m a wuss, and beyond a short winter visit I can’t live in a cold climate, lol - so keep the pictures coming.
